It's prudent to call ahead to confirm any limitations put in place for C19.

Scared of jellyfish? Don't like sand and waves and beach life? Want to train under more "sterile" conditions? Or simply want to splash around? Here on the island there is an array of outdoor pools open to anyone and everyone for a small fee. For our writer Zoe, nothing beats the outdoor pool in Can Picafort, its only downside being that it is only open during the height of the summer. General Rules and Regulations #

All of the municipal pools on the island have a lifeguard, and should the post happen to be unattended for any reason there will always be a notice stating why and what to do and who to contact in case of an emergency.

You are required to shower upon entry and exit of the pool. Children will not be allowed to enter the pool unattended under a certain age (this may vary depending on the pool) and in certain cases may need proof of their swimming ability.

Other than the majority of indoor pools, you won't be required to wear a swim hat in the open-air ones.

The Can Picafort Outdoor Pool #

Can Picafort's pool is our writer Zoe’s personal favourite. Here is her report:

Can Picafort’s outdoor pool is a complete hive of activity during the summer months, with schools holding swimming lessons there, families bringing their picnics along and enjoying the hot summer sun, or groups of friends challenging each other to do the biggest and best ‘bomb’ into the pool - there is certainly no other pool with the same ambience. Although lively it is mainly a hit with the locals, as its relatively hidden location means it’s off the beaten track for many tourists: The cost to use this pool is a mere 1€ per person, with an extra deposit required for sun loungers (this is also 1€ which will be returned to you by the lifeguard when you hand back your lounger). Quite possibly one of the best pools on the island, and certainly one of the most affordable - I recommend you pay Can Picafort a visit if you’re in the north of the island!
