Despite all the culinary offerings on the island, traditional Mallorquin cuisine is some of the finest around. There are many hidden restaurants offering some of the best local dishes, but here are just a couple of our favourites!

Fine Dining Foodie Hotspot

Fine Dining #

Mallorca is now home to 7 Michelin starred restaurants, with the majority situated in the city of Palma. Although not so affordable, the experience is unforgettable, and many restaurants offer set menus or lunchtime offers to ensure (almost) everyone can experience Michelin dining to celebrate a special occasion!

Marc Fosh

Renowned British chef, Marc Fosh, has been well established in Palma for many years, attracting customers from across the world. The only British chef to have his work recognised in Spain, his reputation proceeds him- and quite rightly so, the food is to die for! Marc Fosh offers a weekly lunchtime menu, where 3 courses will cost you 29.50 € per person, and an indulgent 5 course meal is 39.50 € per person - amazing value for Michelin star dining! Marc Fosh uses only local produce, with certain products being grown at his finca (Fosh Farm)- you don’t get fresher than that!
Address: Carrer de la Missio, 7A, 07300, Palma
Telephone: 971 72 01 14

Adrian Quetglas

Adrian Quetglas was born in Buenos Aires and has travelled the world, working extensively in London, Moscow and of course, Mallorca! Upon his return from Russia, Adrian Quetglas established his restaurant in Palma and very quickly was awarded his Michelin star. Offering a set lunch menu for 33 € per person, and a dinner menu for 50 € per person - Adrian Quetglas makes Michelin affordable. To accompany your meal, which will encompass flavours that display Adrian’s culinary knowledge of global flavours and fusions, a tasting wine package of 5 glasses of wine can be purchased for 25 € (per person). Although pushing the boat out a little, this certainly is a dining experience that you won’t forget!

International Cuisine #

Mallorca is a fusion of cultures, everywhere you go waves of languages wash over you, and this is clearly demonstrated in the abundance of international cuisine available on the island.

Bindi

Described as the ‘spirit of Asian food’ Bindi is not your average Indian restaurant. With every dish cooked to orderBy, Bindi promise to tailor make and customise your meal to fit you. As well as offering a large evening menu, they open every afternoon for a ‘Thalli Menu’. For just 14.50 € you can choose a plate of 3 (out of 4 available) curries, served with rice, naan bread puri, starter and dessert- one of Mallorca’s most affordable feasts! Isaan Thai Cuisine

A careful balance of traditional flavours and hearty portions, served in a peaceful and tranquil setting - Isaan Thai Cuisine has it all. Thai culture is present within every ornament or decoration that adorns the restaurant; and whilst relaxing with a glass of wine, you can observe the chefs cooking your meal (always nice to see, in my opinion!). With so many eateries in the city centre, it’s easy to become complacent, and forget that every corner of the island is home to hundreds of great restaurants- and of course you must try them all!

The North #

The North of Mallorca has some of the most picturesque scenery in Mallorca, and with miles and miles of coastline, some of the best eateries are located along the beachfront.

La Terrazza

Situated in Alcanda, right next to Port Alcúdia, La Terrazza is a family owned restaurant that has been delivering home cooked Mallorquin cuisine for years. Offering panoramic views of the ocean, and serving some of the freshest fish dishes on the island, it’s easy to see why La Terrazza is popular with locals, and tourists alike. Celler La Parra

In the picturesque coastal resort of Puerto Pollensa, one of Mallorca’s oldest restaurants Celler La Parra, defines Mallorquin cooking. Handed down through three generations of family, and with more than fifty years of history the interior of this restaurant transports you back in time. In fact, if the walls could speak I am certain they would whisper stories of families in times gone by, enjoying paellas, and Abuelo getting a little too drunk on glasses of Hierbas! Renowned for their paella, yet offering an array of tasty dishes (at very affordable prices) it’s a must on any visit to Mallorca!

The East #

Pretty calas and small coastal towns are scattered across the East coast of Mallorca, and within these tiny towns are some of the island’s best eateries.

Quince

I’ve eaten in many fabulous restaurants here in Mallorca, but Quince wins everytime. Located on the harbour, in the quaint fishing village of Porto Cristo, the locally sourced menu is simply delicious. With fresh daily fish specials, and local wines and liquors on offer - Quince provides fusion flavours without straying too far from traditional Mallorquin cuisine. The service is sublime, and the setting stunning. Be sure to visit this exceptional eatery!

Sa Punta

Once owned by the family of Rafa Nadal, this restaurant is tucked along the coast between Cala Bona and Costa Los Pinos in the Son Servera municipality. Although best known for its seafood, Sa Punta offer a large array of Mediterranean dishes, in an incredibly romantic and intimate setting - perfect for dates or anniversaries. Mallorca’s most affluent area, with exquisite hotels and restaurants a plenty. The West coast will never disappoint when it comes to culinary delights!

El Olivo

This 16th century olive press is undoubtedly one of the most romantic restaurants on the island. Situated in Belmond La Residencia, El Olivo is renowned for its rich European flavours, served in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. Not the most affordable restaurant in Mallorca, but certainly worth the money, El Olivo is one of Mallorca’s finest restaurants.

Restaurant SaBarca

Along the waterside are many bars and restaurants, which can make decision making tricky; however, SaBarca takes the crown! The interesting and innovative menu is centred around locally caught fish, and fresh produce, combining Mallorquin flavours with international fusions. The relaxed ambience is aided by a guitarist (most nights during the summer) - it’s the perfect place to wine and dine on a warm summer’s night.
