It’s That Time of Year Again: Sa Rua!

Mallorca celebrates the start of Lent each year with colorful street parties and parades. These celebrations are one of the largest and loudest carnivals in Mallorca. The main festivities are in Palma with street parties, live music, food & drink and parades named Sa Rueta – the children's event, which took place on Sunday, February 16, and Sa Rua – the adult's parade on Sunday, February 23 from 5-9:00pm. The floats will follow this itinerary: Rambla, Carrer de Sa Riera, Unió street, Joan Carles I square and Jaume III avenue. Villages join the fun with their own parades and festivities throughout the weekend. The Mallorquin carnival is a perfect excuse to experience the fiesta culture, food, and almond blossoms covering the island in February!
