Thank you to all of you who went out there with their cameras and sent in their best snaps, catching the magic of Mallorca’s almond blossom. The number of photos that reached us was overwhelming and the quality of photographs is breath taking. You really gave us a hard time choosing, and frankly we would have liked to place every single one right there on the top of the podium.
Some caught the essence of the Mallorquin landscape with flowering trees over dry stone walls or sheep grazing in the meadows under trees aflush in pink, others concentrated, as is the Japanese tradition, on the beauty of individual branches or flowers, waiting patiently for just the right light. There were gnarled beauties of very old trees and younger ones parading over daisy fields, and one shot taken in eerie moonlight. What a wealth of natural beauty and photographer’s creativity.
